Made from PAN-based (polyacrylonitrile) carbon fibers.

Can be oxidized (pre-carbonized), carbonized, or graphitized depending on the application.

High-temperature resistance up to 3000°C in inert atmosphere.

Low thermal expansion and excellent thermal conductivity (anisotropic).

High electrical conductivity, typically around 10³–10⁴ S/m depending on grade and weave.
